A master salute to boot! Even from way up on the Duluth hillside, the salute carries as well as can

Originally built as the classic Great Lakes bulk carrier Reserve in 1953.
On August 1, 2007, the Reserve arrived at her owner's (KK Integrated Logistics) dock at Menominee, MI for lay-up and conversion to a self unloading articulated barge, becoming the James L. Kuber.
January 4, 2013 the connection system mating tug and barge failed cause the pair to split leaving the barge adrift on Lake Superior. Fleetmate Saginaw came to the aid of the tug Victory and helped locate the barge the next morning. The barge was then towed along side the Saginaw until it could be handed off to the tug Anglian Lady for tow back to the Soo for repairs.
While at the DonJon shipyard in Erie, Pa., in January 2019, the vessel was renamed Maumee, the second vessel of the fleet to bear that name. ()
Quite the abbreviated story this vessel has had!

This is the 5th visit to Duluth for the season! She arrived with limestone for the Hallett dock, then shifted over to the CN dock to load iron ore.

I was quite surprised on just how well the salute carried! very nice of them to give us the master on the way in.
